snake in house
Would anyone know what kind of snake it would be if it were about 3 ' long , green with yellow strips down it's sides and a viper ? My brother found it in his home in upper Ajijic. How common is this ?

Re: snake in house
I would most definitely say, a garter or garden snake. They would be the most common, but not that common, near the populated areas.
Totally harmless.

Garden snake. Call Vern and Lori Geiger they will remove it and release it back to the wild. 765 4916

THANKS, it was captured and let back into the wild. I say viper because it reared like a cobra. I have to say I don't know much about snakes, and thanks for the information. Tday

Re: snake in house
Most snakes will rear in order to bite. At least to coil before striking. A viper has a triangular shaped head.

Don't you have to give it the "eyeball test or examination", to know for sure?

Rattle snakes are vipers. All are poisonous and have long fangs. You don't have to be very close to see the triangular or wedge shaped head. You can get close it you want, slainte

That's "high" street Spansih. Pete (like from the top of Juarez)
Down in my hood we say "no mames, guey"
and then throw in "BOLLOCKS!!!" for good measure.

Re: snake in house
Smile, you are bad Slainte39 :) You even spelled buey in the evil way,"guey"
I always use b rather than g when writing guey so I don't get shot. And, of course you, are correct when you say "mames" is worse than "manchas"
Thank God this isn't Spanish Forum or we would have been banned for life :)

Re: snake in house
But remember it says, Don't suck my ****** buey
If you are a man saying it, it means one thing, if you are a woman saying it, it means don't suck something else.
A more often used but not quite as bad word is manches (stain) me with your ***. Again what it means changes with the sex of who is saying it.
And I am pretty sure Buey is spelled with 4 letters, not 3 or wey.

Re: snake in house
pete that is the way some friends of mine spell wey.. not it is not the official spelling but since I see it on the cell.. the spelling is irrelevant. These young guys have great imagination when it comes to spelling and it is Chiapas where spelling is optional.. since a large part of the population is bilingual and illiterate they write phonetically according to their language..
