USD Cash?

USD Cash?
With the new restrictions on exchanging actual cash Dollars, I have a couple of questions:
1) Does Super Lake still take USD for exchange?
2) Is there still a Cambio on Hidalgo if one is headed east into Chapala. If memory serves me correctly, it would be on the right side (lakeside) just before you reach the main intersection.
3) What other options are there for the exchange of actual USD's?

Re: USD Cash?
I just exchanged US dollars at Intercam in Ajijic. Needed my passport and zip code - took a phone bill and FM3 just in case but they didn't want to look at that. They gave me a card for future dollar cashing. Took about 2 minutes.

The cambio on Hidalgo going into Chapala is no longer there. Closed down months ago.

Super Lake still takes USD.
There is an exchange house in West Ajijic next to the Drycleaners near Casa de Waffle.
Used to be one on Colon in Ajijic, but don't know if it's still there.

Re: USD Cash?
Thanks for all the info! Given my timeline, I would like to avoid going to Ajijic. I am picking up a rental car and heading for greener pastures ASAP. I know that I can do an exchange at the airport but also know that they typically don't offer the best of rates. I just need to cash in a basic amount of cash and then will handle additional needs with the ATM's.

Re: USD Cash?
Have you looked into exchanging the cash in the US before coming down? Most major banks will do so. Just enough to get you to an ATM. You will get the best rate with the ATMs.
