PHONE SCAM

For the last several weeks, I've been getting calls from an 814 or 812, plus more prefixes. All hours, several times a day. Early morning and Sundays, too. The first time, I answered and asked for English. Nope. All in rapid fire Spanish and with poor hearing, phone calls like that don't work for me. So, I blocked the number, and all the subsequent calls from the similar numbers they seem to have an unlimited supply of. They go to my answering machine and are then blocked. However, they never give up and it never ends.

Anyone else getting these, or am I special???

Good to know !!! I'd like to get "un special" re these calls. When I first moved to Ajijic, my phone number was inherited from the previous owner whose partner must have been a real deadbeat, because a slew of collection agencies were chasing him. After some time, they gave up. This is ten years later, so I doubt it's about him.

I don’t get them because lately my phone has been out more than it works since last week. When it does work I get calls for some propane delivery. I’ve had this number 8 years but still get the calls.

I get politicians, banks, insurrance companies, Megacable and a bunch of others , I just hang up or plain do not answer as people who know me call me on the cell... actually I am thinking of doing away with the land line because it is now useless..

But, you don't have to remember to charge a landline phone;)

Me, I like having both landline and cell--if one is out, the other might be working.

Exactly THAT. I've been bombarded with phone calls lately (both cell phone and some landline, though I'm rarely home to hear the house phone). The other day I got at least five shit calls on my cell phone. Blah.

I'm certain the latest intense wave is mostly electioneering. Looking forward to July 1!
