Good food in Mazatlán
My favorite restaurants right now are these:
Cueva de Leon, a small place on Olas Altas. Manolo has a bunch of things on the menu for $50 pesos! Those bring you a full meal and the cooking is fine. He always has other specials, most are around $80. And the best Margaritas! (His drinks aren't cheap, but the food is!)
For breakfast I love the Altazor Ars Cafe in the Plazuela Machado. Omelets of all kinds, my favorite huevos rancheros in the world, all small prices. They have lunch, dinner, but I go for brekkie.
For breakfast in the Golden Zone, go to Allegro. They have eggs benedict, so I go there sometimes for those extra calories. Good coffee, espresso, etc.
Bahia Mariscos restaurant. This is a block from my house, and for seafood I think it is the best in town. It is located on Mariano Escobedo about 1 block from the malecon on Olas Altas. They are pretty famous for ceviche. I love the zarandeado filet and the whole fried fish. And, everything else I have tried!
Cheap food and drinks, and a great hangout to meet people, Puerto Viejo. It's a bar restaurant on Olas Altas. Their food is really good, and inexpensive. And the place is happening.
Just a few suggestions, but I want to say go to small, local places not the ones who advertise a lot and charge 200 pesos for a dish of shrimp.
Enjoy Mazatlán!

Sure is. I am a LITTLE (40 years?) too old for that crowd, but they do have fun!

Re: Good food in Mazatlán
I used to hang there whenever I was down. Of course the last time I was in Mazatlan was 15 years ago. It was during College spring break. What a blast. We loved that place. Guess I'm too old for it now........
