I learned something very interesting today.

I know it doesn't apply here, but for reference, in the U.S., the law encourages parties to resolve their disputes before filing a lawsuit. The courts usually have several ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) program with several options, including settlement conferees with the judge.

In Mexico, I can't have my attorney contact the other side and say I have an issue and let's sit down and talk about it.

I can go to the Municipal delegate who sends a notice to the other side to show up, etc. No show, another notice, third no show, and nothing is done. Just about every Mexican knows this and ignores the notice to show up from the delegate.

What bullshit.
