renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
Since it appears there is no longer an office in/near Chapala to renew licenses, I'm heading to Guad for the first time to get a renewal.
Information I need, and hoping someone has current info:
Must the renewal be done before the license expires, or can it be done afterwards without any negative consequences?
Is there a recommended time of day to get the renewal at the Guad office?
What paperwork do I need to take with me?
Can all this be done in one day?
I'm assuming I don't have to take an actual driving test???
Did I miss anything?
thanks ..... and happy holidays

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
I will not be much help here. Maybe 8 years ago when my Jalisco Drivers License had expired, I was told that I had a year to renew it But that if I waited much longer I would need to apply for a new license.
I have no idea whether the information I was given is still correct
Oh, Merry Christmas.

Take the following and two copies of each:
Old licence
Passport
Residency visa card
Current CFE or TelMex bill in your name
CURP
It is all done while you are there. You can either prepay at a local bank or at a bank near the facility. I would avoid letting it expire as they change the rules all the time. No drivers test required for renewal.

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
one more question .... Is the CURP # and the RFC # used interchangeably?
I've been asked in more recent years for a RFC #.
I'll take both #s in any event.
Thanks ... just checking.
happy Holidays

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
I just checked my CURP and RFC #s, which are exactly the same. There appears to be a relationship. But, since I will have both cards with me, they can choose.

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
That's interesting. Mine are not the same. The first 6 digits on both are your birth date then mine have completely different numbers and letters following.

Both cards start with letters that I know are derived from my name. Next are the birthdate numbers, then followed by more letters and numbers. Who knows?? ... as long as I don't have to go back up again and they take whatever # they want, I'm happy.

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
I just checked my Jalisco driver's license ... on the front, it states "RFC or CURP", and my RFC # is listed after that. So that means they will take the Curp or RFC #s.
So, that's good enough.
Thanks ....

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
IF they want the CRUP card, they want the new form not the old card??? You fill out the info online, and print the "new" CRUP on a sheet of paper rather than the little wallet card. Sorry I don't have the URL for the CRUP.

We have found the Las Aguilas office on Lopez Mateos to be more convenient than the downtown GDL office. EZPZ too. Nice people, not too crowded, easy wait.

The CURP and RFC are not the same, they have similar info but they are not the same,,,since they take either one it does not matter in this case but it will make a difference eventually ..

Can you give the address, our expired on Halloween but we need to get our renewed yet again, and since we have to change our phone bill again in my hubby's name we have to wait another month, since a lawyer here did not put my name on our lease.

Address? No, I have no idea what the address is. Did you try googling it? I can tell you it's in the Las Aguilas area of Guad which is on Lopez Mateos up by Plaza del Sol. Look for big bronze eagle statue. I think there is an IMSS office around there too. Sorry, that's the best I can do. Lots of parking in shopping area parking lots.
Take UBER?

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
Las Águilas, is a bit north of the Home Depot on the OPPOSITE side of Lopez Mateos. Las Águilas is a big complex on both sides of L.M., so when you pass it on the HD side, just take the next retorno and you'll come to it.
The one just off Lázaro Cárdenas, near the big IMSS hospital at Plaza de Toros, has been described as very easy to do for renewals, also. I'll probably go there. Mine expired last August, I think.
(Too many accent marks in this post. I'm sure I got them wrong! )

One of us had an expired license, quite expired as I recall, and nobody even batted an eyelash.
I think all your accents are correct! I missed Águilas.

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
I renewed mine at Plaza las Torres this morning. Took about an hour. Be sure when you photocopy your DL, Curp and Resident visa you copy both the front and the back onto a single sheet. They won't accept them on two sheets. Good thing there is a handy copy store 50 feet away........

When I was there they wouldn't take my CURP card and copies. They wanted the one that you download from the site mentioned above by CB. However, I can't get that site to work It keeps wanting the verification code even though I put it in, over and over.

They took my Curp card. Regardless, that handy copy place can print your Curp in seconds. My amigo forgot his and they printed it for him for $18 pesos.

The guy that checks to make sure your papers are in order said that they needed the CURP that is on a full page you get when download from the govt. site. I have my original CURP that was issued to me in 2010 but he would accept it. I tried to use the site you mentioned and I get nada

Re: renewing my Jalisco driver's license ...
They accepted my Curp card yesterday. Maybe it depends on his mood. I think his sister probably owns the copy place......jaja.
