Supermarket that has hard to find items
Gringal,
I changed the topic so my post would not get lost in all the advice about moving to Mexico. Great topic I might add, and good advice.
There's a supermarket in the area that caters to the folks who just have to have certain imported items. They do well. The thing I first noticed when shopping there was an aisle with Campbell's soups from the USA.
The opposite aisle had Campbell's soups made in Mexico. The US ones cost more. Go figure.
The supermarket is??????

There is a difference in some of the soups. Some are identical, some are flavored differently. The difference in the price can be substantial.

Hi Roy
You will find differences in the quantity. The US imported product will likely be measured in ounces, while the domestic brand will be measured in grams. It takes some tweaking of recipes to accommodate the differences. Like cheesecake, American recipes call for 8 ounce packages - here cream cheese comes in 190 gram packages.
We have adjusted our taste buds to domestic brands, like unsalted butter, canned soups, crackers, etc. Consequently, we rarely shop at SuperLake.

A Grrrr comment
Years ago, most if not all, commercial milk was sold in liter/2 liter packages. Now big companies like Sello Rojo sell fresh milk in quart/2 quart receptacles.
Scrap the metric system for a little more profit that isn't profoundly noticeable.
