A long time forum member and friend, Scott Parks has passed away. He posted as Sparks on many boards. RIP Sparks.

That is sad. He once lived lakeside before moving to the Coast. He was a computer techie at a University in Seattle. He turned over a forum to Pedro, AKA Ned Small, many years ago.

That forum lasted maybe 5 years until people stopped posting on it.

I visited Scott in Melaque about a year ago. He was happy and enjoying the coast. We tilted a few rum and cokes........jaja.

Correction Pete, in 2010, Scott gave his old forum to Pedro and it lasted about 5 months. It was mostly just Pedro talking to himself. Scott helped me to set up this one at the same time.

NOOOOOO!   What happened, Bob??? How did you find out? nooo

I met Scott at the beach years ago and we became friends, soon after that he moved up here and became my neighbor in Joco where he lived for a couple of years eventually moving back to Melaque and building his house. He was content there and happy in his new house. I haven't seen or talked to him in person, some on FB, for a few years.

Yes, I just read it. Apparently the Ministerio Publico was notified and responded to his house and took his body to the morgue for autopsy. His death was described as unexpected.

Sorry. What I meant to say is that Sparks gave a working and active forum to Pedro when he moved to the coast. People would post thereon and if Pedro didn't like what someone said about him he would enter your post and change what you wrote and tried to make the poster look dumb. We could all see what he is doing. Soon almost no one posted thereon. He drove them all off.

He kept the forum up for several years and maybe a post by a new-be would be made every three or so months. It was basically dead. Pedro destroyed it.

Thank goodness Canuck Bob came along and started a replacement forum and through proper management made it a success

Jaja...actually the truth be known, Scott gave Pedro that defunct forum to keep him occupied and away from here while we got this one up and running. Pedro promised to be good so we let him on here in 2012. Of course he didn't and left in 2015. He now behaves himself as Ned Small on TOB.

 It is with great sadness that I am posting this. My good friend Scott Parks, known here as "Sparks" passed away last week. We were supposed to get together last Thursday after returning here from Canada. He didn't show up. Last night his neighbour messaged me on his Facebook page to tell me he was found dead in his bed. His neighbour gave me the telephone numbers of his family and after many tries, I contacted his sister. She will get in touch with the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City today for advice on the legal procedures she will need. R.I.P. Sparks.
