HELPER WANTED
Assistant Wanted (part-time)
Need helper with decent % of English to do miscellaneous shopping/errands; act as intermediary with local repair personnel; and perform random "lite" projects around my casa. I estimate about 10 hours +/- a week. Drivers license required. PM me for details.

Re: HELPER WANTED
You might want to create an 'in Spanish' flyer to distribute to your neighbors. The closer the better and the advantages are worth the effort.

Re: HELPER WANTED
Thanks for your input. Sounds good, however, if I was currently so mobile as to do that ......... I wouldn't even need a helper. Hence, my reaching out to our community for leads to a solution of my problem.

Re: HELPER WANTED
Give your house keeper and/or maintenance man a handful of flyers and put up 100 peso reward.

Re: HELPER WANTED
Hand write the flyers, big print, colored markers, etc. Perhaps someone you know can go make copies for you.
Use Google translate (or whatever else you prefer) to ask your helpers to distribute for you at the various bulletin boards, churches.
This is how I prepare when I have to out and ask for something and don't know who to say it with my limited Spanish. When you want to get something done, you have to think outside the box a bit.

If you want your helper to drive your car, it must be Mexican plated.

Re: HELPER WANTED
Does anyone know of a maid who is available? I prefer someone who is fast and experienced. We have a regular maid, but she has family issues. The new person would be temporary, or once in a while. Basic cleaning and maybe some ironing. My home is in Ajijic centro and near the main bus.

Marion .... got your message in response to my PM suggestion to you to start a new thread detailing YOUR request. Rude??

Your question was answered. There are many good suggestions on the thread. I do not think it necessary to take up so much space on this site. If someone has a worker for you, they will contact you as they will do for me. You are too picky and edgy.
Relax and put up a flyer in the Christina Pharmacy. Ask the girls who work in the Clinic Ajijic and dr. Leons office. That was how I found my driver and assistant. Hope i was helpful.

Welcome to the community, Marion. Thanks for your insight & tips for managing in the area. Looks like you've been here about 13 days or so. ????

Re: HELPER WANTED
I was in a similar situation as you are in. If you do not find the info on the forums, you can try another approach. Asking other Mexicans is the way to go. I have put out the word that we need an additional maid. This is the most effective method. Several years ago I found a woman who spoke English, drove my car, shopped and could deal with the gardeners. How did i find her? I asked one of the executives who works at the bank. Since you have lived here a long time, I wanted to remind you about these options. Sometimes we forget. Good luck!

Re: HELPER WANTED
Vandre, how much are you paying and where do you live? I do know a woman (gringa) who is completely bilingual, trustworthy and looking for extra work.

Re: HELPER WANTED
I can recommend Edwin Gallegos de Dios, fair English, very nice and helpful, He has assisted other gringos with errands, driving etc. (331) 110-7651. He lives at Paseo del Conejo #5
San Antonio, Tlayacapan
We don't need his helper skills but he does our twice yearly extermination, and has done welding repairs for us.
