Poor Louie!
IT'S BEEN A LONG 4 YEARS FOR HIM! However, we finally have a handle on his allergies. Huge shout-out to DR. DANEIL BORREGO DVM - DANVET NEXT TO SORIANA IN CHAPALA - for ultimately putting the final allergy to rest. Guess what it is. . .plastic food and water bowls! Who knew, not me. His allergies are extensive but manageable. They are: Fleas, Plastic Bowls, Kibble, and Grass. He has been symptom free for 5 days! YAY! Now that he doesn't have to spend every minute licking and chewing his paws, pacing, and scratching, he's bored and doesn't know what to do with himself. lol He'll figure it out. So good to have a normal, sweet, happy, content doggie. Mil gracias, Dr. Daniel!

Great news!
Dr Borrego and his staff have been doing a great job for the last 2 1/2 years treating my weimaraners cancer.

Glad you've got a handle on it. It's a miserable state to go through for both owner and dog.
Plastic bowls are a problem but not plastic soccer balls?

Re: Poor Louie!
Apparently not. . .I dunno. the sign of allergy to plastic dishes is scratching the lips/face compulsively. Esp after eating.
Gracias, lunateak, that is very good news too! You're both Lucky.
I also want to add that because he now feels good and he's relaxed, he's blooming with personality and animated conversation.

Re: Poor Louie!
I've had this problem with two different cats..... and haven't used plastic bowls for over 25 years since
the first cat was diagnosed by a British vet while I was living in Saudi Arabia.
Another cat here in Mexico was diagnosed by the Ladrons and seems she had a reaction, same type
as previous cat, of a tumor like growth on her lip. Here we finally traced the reaction to a rubber type
cat brush that she loved. Surgery in both cases and only ceramic dishes and no rubber/plastic toys
made the difference.

You are to be congratulated for staying the course. I'm happy for both of you!
My girls have stainless steel water bowls and food bowls. It works for them.

Re: Poor Louie!
I am so happy to hear about Louie! Good for you for staying the course. Since bowls and soccer bowls are different types of plastic I am not surprised that one bothers him and the other doesn’t. Anyway, congratulations to you both!

GREAT NEWS! Hugs to happy boy Louie. Good work Dr Daniel - he's a treasure for sure. Pet allergies can be a real pain to trace and once allergies are triggered, it seems like every little allergy gets bigger. I know finding Sam's triggers and eliminating them made his final years so much better.
