Trying to plan ahead... (It's my Canadian genes - Mexican wife thinks I'm crazy) still - what happens around here at New Years?

Is New Years a big party in the plaza?, a noteworthy event at the LCS? a quiet-ish stay at home family time?
Restaurants open? closed? need reservations weeks in advance?

I've got family coming down and trying to ensure we get the most out of the village traditions over the holidays....

Many restaurants and bars have events. You usually need to purchase tickets in advance. The Mexicans party like rock stars on New Years. Expect loud music and cohetes until the early am.........

... so get your earplugs NOW if you don't want to party all night. ;)

Music, fireworks, bonfires everywhere, parties (public and private), all night celebration.
