7.1 quake hits near Mexico City

Hoping the injury and damage is limited. So sad. Contesa and Roma are hard hit. Such beautiful old buildings in that area, many of the old homes are being restored. My heart goes out to them. I love the Roma district. If Mexico City wasn't such an enormous city, I'd love a place in Roma. On my last visit, the seismic activity is noticeable in many buildings. Some areas of the city, the vertical and horizontal lines of buildings are noticeably not plumb or level to the eye. We'd marvel at the number of leaning buildings there.

Has anyone heard from Christina? Does she still live in Mexico City?

Cristina is ok. I saw pics of the inside of her place and it was pretty trashed in terms of overturned bookcases and stuff all over the floor but she and animals are ok. She did say there was damage to her building.

Thank God. I knew her fairly well when she lived here. I greatly enjoy her posts on many topics. (No I am not a good cook like her)

Glad she's one of the lucky ones.... although I think I'd be planning on finding another location.  Two killer quakes in such a short time is pretty horrifying.
