Ophthalmologist

The optometrist at the LCS, Luz Maria, has recommended eye cataract surgery and she recommends an ophthalmologist in GDL by the name of Dr. Carlos Naranjo Ahumada. I know there are several ophthalmologists locally and several more that come here on a regular basis to the various clinics, that are highly recommended but I had never heard of this one.
Does anyone know or have experience with this particular Dr. and what is your opinion? Luzma  has been my optometrist for 15 to 20 years and I have been satisfied with her particular work (lens prescriptions) for eye care.

I have great confidence in Dr. Enrique Roig, who is US trained and specializes in retinology. His English is flawless & he has offices at Puerto de Hierro, but does most surgery at the specialized Clinica Santa Lucia. He would probably suggest someone there for your cataract surgery. I had my cataract surgery done at Puerto de Hierro by Dr. Vargas, who has an office there and in the Ajijic Clinic, where he sees patients locally on one or more days in the week. The surgery was in 2015 and I am pleased with the results. At that time, he was seeing patients on Tuesdays and appointments were made with the receptionist at Ajijic Clinic.

My husband had it done by Dr. Claudia Camacho a few months ago. She does surgery in Guad at Clinica Oftalmica Laser Choza. We were both very pleased. www.camacho-choza.com

Slainte, I've heard many reports about Dra. Camacho and all of them were excellent. I've never heard anything but good regarding her from friends. If/When I need this I will go to her.
