Car Jackkings

I have heard of 2 instances from our Mexican gardener of a group of 3-4 (3 men and a woman) who have the woman stand beside what appears to be a broken down car and attempts to flag down passing motorist at night..He states that at least two helpful souls that stopped to help were then accosted by the armed men who suddenly appeared and robbed the Samaritan and took their automobile..He stated that these robberies happened at night..Just be aware and careful out there..

Did he say where?

As a side note.......I have an anti-jacking system as part of the alarm system on my vehicle. After the vehicle is started you have about 1 minute to press a hidden button under the dash or the alarm sounds and the vehicle shuts down. It even activates if the door is opened while it is running to prevent someone from yanking you out at a red light.

He told us that there was 1 in Ajijic and the other in Chapala...The guy is pretty reliable. No other facts that I know and he is off today.

I have seen a few reports of daytime carjackings so be careful, one was in La Floresta.

These carjackings are very common in Guadalajara right now. Usually high end SUVs and heavily customised cars. They are stripped overnight - just like the movies.

The system in the Vocho simply blows it up.

No mercy for anyone jacking it....
