I have been trying for two days to reach Jackie on his cell. He is always very reliable. So.. is he on vacation, etc. ?

He replaced my filters a few weeks ago. Keep calling or email him. He isn't real good at communicating or else stop by his office at Bugambilias.

I dropped by the office today and asked Jackie's assistant why he wasn't answering his cell phone. His cell phone is not working and he is using his mom's for a while. I wasn't given that number. His Telmex office phone is 766-5999 where you can leave a message. He has one employee who is often there but he only speaks Spanish

Pete, you should educate him on good communication skills if he wishes to maintain his sales and service to the expat community. This is the third or fourth time in the past year or so I have seen posts from people unable to contact him. Eventually his regulars will find someone better...

You make a good point. This has happened before. And I shall let him know that this is a serious problem.

Some of us only call his Cell phone #. His business phone number is also in the phone book and one can leave a message there, however should the Mexican Speaking employee answer the phone this could become even more confusing if you do not speak Spanish.

His employee spoke passable English with me today and said he would have Jackie call me. We'll see....
Is there another good local source for sales and installation of a whole house purification system?

Yes, right across the street is Pool Stuff. That is who installed my system and where I buy my replacement filters, etc. There is also two other places in West Ajijic. Probably a few in Chapala too.

His communication skills may be weak but, IMHO, there is no one better! BTW, I called the office number last week and it worked fine.

Yes, the office phone works great. I only spoke in Spanish to Jackie's helper who told me he didn't speak English very well. So I incorrectly passed that message on to you all.

But from comments above I learned that he does speak passible English. I am sorry I mislead you when I stated he didn't speak English

I agree with David. Jackie is the best and I have used him for five years. I am confused about the land line however. Every time I attempted to call it I got a recorded message in spanish and no one ever answered. I went to the office and asked a woman there about it and she said that number was no longer in service and to use the cell phone only. I tried the land line yesterday with the same results.

Anyway, I will eventually get in touch with Jackie.

Yet when I tried the land line yesterday at 766-5999 the tape recording was in English asking that you leave a message.

Now if the employee were there and he answered the phone, he would most likely answer in Spanish.

Hi Pete and David. Based on your comments that you were able to reach H2OLE on the land line I decided to give it another try and was able to get through. I had given up on that number months ago based upon what the women at the office told me and had always relied on the cell. Anyway, all is well !

Almost 10 days has gone by with no communication from Jackie after his initial consultation at my house. I visited his office several times and left messages on his cell and office lines. Nada. He knows my requested installation would make him more than 20,000 pesos, so I guess he just doesn't need the business. Oh well, on to someone else.

I only know that his cell phone is out of order and that he is using his mom's cell for a while. I have phoned him at his office number and his Spanish speaking office worker was there and helped me. I also saw Jackie walking to his office a few days ago.

I do not know why he has not responded to your calls.

Jackie was at our house servicing our system about a week ago.....so he still exists.

It depends on where you live and how sandy the water is. In Riberas, I now have a filter that takes out sediment going to my tinaco. Under the sink, to treat the water coming from the tinaco, I have another filter, then a carbon filter and then a UV light. Works for me.

I just talked to Jackie. He has his cell phone back and he checks all messages each day at his office where he has a Telmex answering machine.

He said, the problem is that sometimes when he is working in the middle of a project, he can not stop working and pick up his cell phone. He said "If I don't answer my cell phone. Send a text message. I will see that and will be able to respond.
