Wed. June 7- at 2pm Harp Festival
HARP FESTIVAL
This event is FREE !!! Wednesday June 7th - starts at 2PM and goes as late as 11M.
It is held at the olde Chapala train station .
Harp players from all over Mexico, including Vera Cruz [ my favorite ] come and some from the US as well.
It is a feast for the ears !!!
There is a very large tent area with folding chairs.. .
and you are most welcome to come with a blanket to sit on the grassy area, or bring your own chair(s) .
You can bring your own beverages, meal or snacks...
I brought a very small cooler for drinks and sandwiches, and had a great time..
you will see a lot of people you know..
Bring sun screen if you are there early .. not much shade in the grassy area, which is large..
Javier Raygoza , a master harp player, and is the organizer of this annual event..
and he plays occasionally at La Bodega, and sometimes brings some of his students [ that he teaches ] with him.. who play the violin, bass, guitar, etc..
Last time I went, Javier had student who was an 8 years old boy who was talented way beyond his chronological years..
If you see Javier advertised playing there it is worth the trip there .. the music is heavenly !!!
