* Protección Civil y Bomberos (Fire Department)
* Seguridad Pública (Police Department)
* Juzgado Municipal (Municipal Courts)
*IJA (Institute of Alternative Justice)
* CEDHJ (State Human Rights)
There will be time for questions and answers the same that will be held this Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 12:00 at the Old City Hall Building located at Ave. Madero 220 in Chapala, Jalisco.
Sincerely,
Alfredo Oscar España Ramos,
Legal Representative of the Municipality of Chapala, Jalisco
Oscar España asked me to pass this along as there has been some confusion for some foreigners as to what different governmental and administrative agencies do and what are their job responsibilities and where their limits are. As many come from different countries with different legal and cultural systems the local government wishes to educate people how things work in Mexico and more specifically in Chapala. The aim is to avoid the frustration of foreigners who innocently and based upon their home country practices present requests at a mistaken office such as going to City Hall to renew their vehicle registration or making a report at the police when really it should be made at the Ministerio Publico. Knowing where to present documents should reduce undue frustration as people will clearly know which local offices handle certain matters.

Re: Government presentation Wednesday May 17, 2017
Unfortunately, the meeting was changed from Tuesday to Wednesday at the last minute. We moved our regular Tuesday items to Wednesday, in order to make this meeting. Got dressed up, went to downtown Chapala, only to be met and informed by Dale Hoyt Palfrey that the meeting was being moved to Wednesday. Which of course we couldn't make. I truly appreciate the Chapala government reaching out like this, and hope they will hold this meeting again, with a little more notice and publicity, so that more of us foreigners can attend.

Spencer - you gotta sue the Guadalajara Reporter photographer who took your picture. They made you look like you had a case of the heebie jeebies, not the confident advocate we all know.

I felt Spencer looked like he was worrying about the stupid questions the gringos might ask.
