Air Canada: Drop United

Hi, I have begun a petition to get Air Canada to dump United airlines as an alliance partner. Please read and sign the petition by clicking here. You do NOT have to be Canadian to sign.

I signed the petition. Delta will be my airline of choice.

The problem for AC fans, and I am one, is they code-share a lot with United. The ONLY way to Guadalajara is to change in Dallas or Houston for a United flight. Otherwise you need to fly to MEX, which I don't mind but don't recommend for visiting friends.

I'd like to be a fan of Air Canada but it's usually much higher than Delta from Toronto to GDL.

Hm. I'll have to look at that, but I usually check with Expedia, and haven't seen Delta come up first. Go know.

Wouldn't it be nice if AC could offer direct flights into GDL from Vancouver & Toronto at least once per week.

Why don't they? You'd think it would be lucrative.

Have you guys petitioned them to do that? Wouldn't hurt to try. Especially now that United has made such an ass of themselves - and so many travelers are trying to avoid the US. Go for it!

Yes, I have contacted them. I got the usual "we are always investigating new routes and enter into them when viable" response. My daughter even works for AC........jaja.

But, in the meantime, sign my petition. It might encourage them to fly here direct.

I usually book directly with Delta. Also, I like their departure times to and from Toronto/GDL.
