The Peso Makes a Remarkable Recovery

According to this article in the New York Times, the Mexican peso has recovered most of its lost value due to the election of Donald Trump and is now one of the world's best performing currencies.

Glad to see that.

Still, all the prices here that went up because the peso lost value, you know they will stay up.

I for one and glad I'm here as an observer to watch from the bleachers what Trump is doing and hope I live to see how it all plays out during the next four years.

Not against the Canadian dollar.

I happen to like the weak Mexicn Peso.  When we moved here  in 2001, the Mexican Peso was known and referred to as the "Mighty Peso" exchanged AT 8.9 to the USD.  We bought our home and two caas  at those exchange rates. Still beats living in Dubuque.

Dawg has travelled about the world time and time again and I nave never EVER seen even one Canadian Dollar. I have about one million Confederate dollars my Alabama grandaddy left to me after the U.S. Civil War.  I´ll trade you those for even one Canadian Dollar and bet I´ll lose purchasing power.

By the way, despite your Canadian education and my inadequte Alabama education. this redneck does know thw difference between "lose" and "loose". Perhaps the weather in Ontario freezes one´s mind.

I had provided my maid and gardener with raises that were equal percentage wise to the decline in the peso /dollar exchange rate as of the 1st of the year. This family has been with us for almost 15 years and are like family. Now that the peso has gained strength with respect to the dollar I hope that this increase will even go farther in this newly revised local economy. They are more than deserving..
