Fishing in La Manzanilla on 3 1/2 day boats. 7 dorado up to 20 lb.,(Candace bagged the big one) the others were mostly in the 8 lb. range and lost 5 jumpers. Rooster fish biting just off shore, other boats caught a variety of surface and bottom fish. One ol' codger brought in a 40 lb. wahoo, gave the fish away and said he was going to the hospital and he really did not look good. Not many birds and only a few bait schools, water temp 85 air 90 and humid. Rumor has it, it will pick up in three days as a southerly wind is moving the blue water in and the green water out. I hope so as the blue water will bring the bait, the yellowfin tuna and the other game fish.

The small ponga fishes 3 comfortably at 500 pesos per hour which includes crew and all the gear you will need. The bigger boat cost a little more but fishes 5. The boats have nice shade dodgers and very nice rods and reels. This price is the best fishing deal I have ever seen. There are plenty of room rentals and the bus stops here. It's about a 4+ hour ride.

We have some friends coming in Sunday so Monday will start a fish-a-thon through the next couple of weeks.
