Lose your connectivity with Telmex and/or Telecable....and windows 10 after an update????
Woke up and my AIO win 10 computer had no connectivity. Checked the modems no problems same result with either Internet provider. So I bring up my chromebook and it is fine. Well MS did an update and it kills connectivity. Rebooting no effect. Luckily I googled the issue and found a fix using my chromebook to get the info. It looks like you have to get a dos prompt and release the IP. Anyhoo if you only have one computer you might look this up and write down the solution before you need it if you ever need it. I have no idea how widespread the problem is but it hit me for sure. You do need to learn how to get a command prompt which is not obvious anymore. Below are the instructions I used. I did not have to mess with DNS to fix my computer.
◾Click start
◾Click run
◾Type in "CMD" and press enter
◾This should open up a command prompt window
◾Now type in "ipconfig /release" and press enter (did nothing but say hey can't do this now zed)
◾Finally, type in "ipconfig /renew" and press enter (This is what fixed my problem zed)
◾Now try to go online to see if the connection is working (yep it now works zed)
If this hasn't done the trick, you can also try clearing the DNS settings. (Didn't need to do any of this zed)
◾To do this, open the command prompt window again
◾Now type in "ipconfig /flushdns" and press enter
◾Again, try to go online to see if your connection is working

Me too, but it may be a version issue. I run the Pro version. How about you?

The free version from the infamous upgrade all on its own issue. Seven year old AIO win 7 machine until MS upgraded it all on its very own. Luckily it worked unlike my laptop which the free upgrade destroyed the OS. I would assume it is win 10 home. I have no idea how widespread this problem is.

The free upgrade to Windows 10, like I use, gave you a version comparable to the Windows 7 version that was upgraded.

Well it did it almost every day until yesterday it loaded an update and now no problems. So MS has fixed the problem.
It did not take effect until I rebooted so maybe not a bad time to reboot if laptop or AIO that stays up for days and just sleeps.

I had this problem last week and struggled for a couple of days trying to figure it out. Then it all of a sudden went away and all is back to normal. Must have been MS working in the background with updates. I thought I was losing it!!
