Is there anywhere local I can buy a computer chair with arms and a high back or do I have to go to Guad?

You might find one in one of the resale or bazaar type places but I'm not aware of any stores that sell them locally. Not sure about Coppel in Chapala.

Furniture for Less? I haven't been in there in a while but they didn't have them before.

Furniture for less. If they do not have one there, they may have one in their warehouse.

Too many in Ajijic seem to forget that Chapala has the main shopping for the area, and that Coppel is a three-storey department store with underground parking and a wide selection of products, as well as catalog service, delivery, electronics set-up, etc.

I was in Coppel a couple of weeks ago looking for a recliner and don't remember seeing office chairs, but maybe that's just selective memory because I wasn't looking for them at that time. I'll go look again, as that is within walking distance of me.

Did you look at http://mgmuebles.mx/ yet?  They have a good selection of high back office chairs.  If you use “sillas para oficinas“ in your search engine, you will find many sources.  If you want to limit the search, just add “en Guadalajra, Jalisco“.

RV - yes, I looked at the site and they seemed to have what I'm looking for at reasonable prices. However, I wouldn't order a chair online without setting my butt in it first and I want to avoid a trip to Guad if there's something available locally. If the local leads pan out, I might visit.

Coppel reminds me of a going out of business K-Mart. Not impressed when I went there.

Furniture and Accessories (the store next to Sunrise) had half a dozen or so to choose from ranging in price from $1500 - $15,000. Coppel had none on display. I'll ,probably be going back to Furniture and Accessories and picking one up I saw there for $2900.
