Noisy Shower
Must be air in the pipes or somewhere but with good water pressure I can play scales with the hot water faucet. It's really loud and obnoxious, I know I need a plumber, but any ideas what this might entail? Getting into the wall . . . ?

Re: Noisy Shower
I doubt it is air in the pipes unless you just changed your filters or something. Even then, air in the pipes pops and sputters out of the faucet not play music. Does it just occur at one or all of your faucets?

You're right.
Only the hot in the shower, not cold, it starts out quiet until I step in, then it starts as the pressure builds. Loud whine, gets louder as I turn the hot up. Requiring the difficult choice between hot water or peace and quiet.

Re: Noisy Shower
I would try cleaning or changing the shower head first. If that doesn't work you may need to change the faucet.

Too early for the "rain birds".....we've barely finished this rainy season, unless his calendar is screwed up.

I will be interested to hear if that did fix it or whatever you do find out.

hahaha, Slainte!
Ok, will call my handyman and let you know when it is solved. I'm pretty sure now it's going to be that hot faucet. Thanks for the input.

Re: Noisy Shower
After one partially successful attempt to fix shower concert, and one handyman no show, I am still in need of a good fontenero. Anybody have a recommendation for a good plumber? Preferably from SAT or Chapala.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Noisy Shower
The problem is simply that the washer in the faucet is oscillating much like the reed of a saxophone. Remove the handle, remove the stem, and now replace the washer. It happens on the hot water side as the washer gets flexible from the heat.
