GOSHA'S CABBAGE ROLLS

We're talking Ukrainian home cooking here: Special today and tomorrow. Old time cabbage rolls with a delicious sauce, side of real mashed potoes with honest butter in them. If you get a chance, have some. These and other good things from the Polish part of the world will be coming along soon, according to the owners. Stay tuned.

I wonder if they'll be doing American Thanksgiving.

I recall seeing a sign there saying they'd be doing Thanksgiving, but you should conirm that. Having had their Turkey sandwich a couple of times, they definitely know how to roast a bird.

That's what I thought about the sandwich so I may give it a go for Thanksgiving, although I really enjoyed Mannix's Canadian Thanksgiving dinner. Those cabbage rolls sound mighty good too. That poor woman works her butt off 7 days a week doing all that cooking.

Their Canadian Thanksgiving was a smash hit, with around 50 diners. Went with a Canadian friend and loved it all, from soup to dessert. Everything was included, including coffee and tea at a cost of $200 pesos.

They are working their fannies off, but only the toughies survive around here. The husband, Carlos, is cooking up a storm as well as the woman. He's from southern Mexico and brought us a sample of a specialty soup today. Yum! I hope they succeed and stay with us.

I'll report re American Thanksgiving next week.

Pumpkin pie is on the menu now. For Canadian Thanksgiving, they also served a spice and thick cream dessert. That is probably going to be on the regular menu, too. After I finish lunch there, dessert would have to find a new stomach.......mine's too full.

That's good news. I gathered from talking with her she's not into making desserts so maybe she found someone to make them for her.

Same block as Bruno's, a little East of it. On the Carreterra; next cross street is Galeana. Galeana is two way and easy to find parking on it. Ajijic.

Had breakfast there today and asked about Thanksgiving plans. YES. They will be having it.
Good idea to make reservations early as space is limited.

Not yet. Breakfast starting at 8:30, served until 2 pm. Lunch until closing at 3:00. Hopes for the future for dinner.

That's what I got a few days ago. I snuck in under the wire, but some friends who showed up later at another table didn't.

I had lunch there today and asked the owners for the official time after which breakfast isn't served: The answer is 12:30.

Last Thursday, Gosha told us that Thanksgiving reservations are closed. We just missed the cut-off. Their turkey sandwich is absolutely outstanding, and her cabbage rolls!....

Yesterday, I had the shrimp kabob and my spouse had the chicken. There are two sticks per plate, so we shared and each had a real treat. These are barbequed to perfection and are my favorite menu item. Comes with rice and cole slaw.
The shrimp are huge. Double yum award.
