Any local lakeside area opportunities to learn & play pickleball?

There are a couple of courts in the Raquet Club, but you have to live there to use them (or have a friend who lives there). Some friends of mine have plans to open a public pickleball facility near Ajijic, but it's slow getting off the ground. Some time soon they hope.

Sorry to contradict you Rosa Venus but Raquet Club is open to everyone for play. Just inform the guard that you are going to the Tennis.Academy. Drive 3 blocks up to the courts and turn left. Next block turn right and park beside the walking track. Enter there and walk to the other side of the track and you will see the courts. There are 4 good paid courts, works out to 20pesos an hour per person. Lessons are available through the tennis pro Willie. There is an active group meeting Wednesdays and Saturdays. Early birds start showing up at 8:30 with most people there by 9:00. There are rental paddles available for only 10pesos. We usually get about a dozen people. Please come out and join us. Beginners are more than welcome. There are lots of beginners to play with.
