LCS Octoberfest is cancelled.....

Title says it all.

Darn. I have been going to miss it.

I went to my first Octoberfest festival in Munich Germany in September 1965. Yes the several weeks long event starts in late September and goes on and on :)

Having also been attendant at the Munich Octoberfest in the 60s, I can assure readers that the cheesy LCS misadventure does nt occupy the same planet as the true Octoberfest.  I suggest a seasonal visit  to Múnich to take aadvantage  of a splendid  opportunity to get loaded on strong German beer.

I guess I've waited too long... a long trip to drink a lot of strong beer... just doesn't ring my chimes.

Ah but Guadalajara has excellent strong beer made at the Minerva Brewery. The pale ale and imperial stout both are 6% and for sale at WalMart and very tasty and award winning. Cost is the only bummer. Now if they would make a nice super strong IPA I would be satisfied as hoppy beer can take more booze and taste right. Pacifico is 4.3% for comparision.

Going back NOB at the end of the month and our vacation. The Octoberfest & Pumpkin ales will be in the stores when I get back. I love Schlafly's Pumpkin Ale (8.0%) and Sam Adams Fat Jack (8.5%). Fat Jack only comes in a 22 oz bottle so I need somebody to share it with as I do not drink much beer, especially at that alcohol content.
