Chicago just had their 500th homicide. Anyone heard of any travel warnings for the city of Chicago?

Re: Travel warnings
We have lived in Mexico for some 15 years. now full time both in Jalisco and somewhat unhinged and poverty stricken Chiapas and when we lived in the U.S. Mainly in Mobile and San Francisco - both violent cities - especially Mobile as is typical of large southern cities. The fundamental difference between violent Mexico and the violent U.S. Is that Mexican violence largely is a product of competition for scarce sources of wealth whether pecuniary. In nature or disputes over land and other property amd personal roghts, etc. In the U.S. violence seems more random and often irrational and unpredictable. Give me "dangerous" Acapulco or even the reported war zone of Jaurez City over Chicago or Detroit any day unless, of course, I am foolishly indulging in street sourced illegal drugs.
