New Blood Lab for Us
We found this lab behind the Pemex Gas station off the Libramiento next to the old Integrity Clinic.
It is called DILABIM #20 interior
766-2384 They open a few minutes after 8am I am not sure if they are open on Saturday or Sunday. I did not bruise at all.
Just to compare prices, since I needed to get some special tests done, and I also decided to get a couple of the cheaper tests repeated to compare and they were almost identical:
ISA LAB DILABIM
$7,000p $2,000p
$710p $380p
Quite the difference.

Good info, Hensley. That's quite a difference in cost.

The lab has been there for about 18 months. I used it last year for a Doctor who was at the old Integrity clinic. Very reasonable prices and prompt results

Re: New Blood Lab for Us
But are they accurate? No way of knowing, right? Right. Some time ago, I remember one of the labs (perhaps the one that used to be on Colon?) was busted for never sending their specimens to Guad, just printing whatever they wanted, and keeping the money.
Chopra gets good recommendations from my doc friends, never heard anything bad about ISA except for their prices (hey, it's Ajijic, what do you expect?), and I use the lab in Chapala across from 'Tom's Bazaar' or whatever it's called now. They are inexpensive, prompt same day results, and I once compared their results with one that used to be in SAT and the results were equal.
YMMV

Re: New Blood Lab for Us
They are very good. Recommended by Drs. at Quality Care, Integrity and others.
Chopra is a Doc on CNN. CHOPO is a big corporate lab that has delivered inconsistent results to me. So, I switched to C.A.R.E for awhile before learning of DLabim over a year ago.

Re: New Blood Lab for Us
Thanks for your input, David.
I don't watch CNN so I didn't get it there. CHOPO it is. I hear good about CARE as well. If docs at QC and Integrity really recommend the DLabim, that's good enough for me.
What were your inconsistent results with CHOPO? Please give me specifics, David, so I can share with the 2 docs that I know routinely recommend this lab. Either PM or not, specifics and proof please. I know neither of them would want to recommend a bad lab.

Blood Glucose, Hemoglobin A1C, and Hemoglobin. Went to two specialists in Guad, an Endocrinologist and Hematologist who reran the tests, got different results, and said "I've had trouble with that lab before."

Trailrunner, if you would have read my post I said I had 2 tests repeated and they were almost the same, I say almost because it was a week apart.Trailrunner wrote:But are they accurate? I think the Dr. on CNN is Dr. Sanjay Gupta, also of Indian descent.

C.A.R.E. is now part of CHOPA. I was at their lab in Providencia on Friday.

Re: New Blood Lab for Us
We have been very happy with Chopa but when a lab equally the same is much cheaper I thought people might be interested.
I had just spent $7000+ on an MRI so was really shocked when I needed to spend another $7000 for blood tests, so was very happy to find this place.

Re: New Blood Lab for Us
Dilabum is not always accurate.
I had a full panel of blood tests done at Dilabum two weeks ago. When the results came the next morning one was way out of whack and showed as abnormal. It had never registered abnormal before. It is something that does not change rapidly
I pulled the results of the last panel done 4 months before and a few prior to that all done at Chopo and compared them to the one done at Dilabum. The only one that was different was the one done at Dilabum the day before.
I went to Chopo and had the test done again. Dilabum was still very different and Chopo the same as always right in the middle and far from abnormal.
It was a lab error.
I will not use them again.

Re: New Blood Lab for Us
That's my attitude about Chopo. Their errors required me to see 2 specialists and have tests redone twice! Sorry, to each his own. I liked C.A.R.E. until Chopo bought them. Both too expensive.
