for DVD player. Does anyone know who does this? I hadn't used it awhile and when I tried to, no power. I got a new battery for the remote, bur NG. There doesn't seem to be a power button on the unit, just works with remote. TIA for any help.

Make sure that:

- there is power to the outlet.

- that the remote doesn't have one button that is stuck down.

If you still have trouble, Ajijic Electronics, Mike Merryman, is good--I haven't had to call them in quite a while, but assume they are still in business: 766-1117, 766-3371. Weekdays, of course, but alas, problems always occur on Saturday afternoon!

There is an electronics repair shop in the strip going East from San Antonio on the lake side just before the parking lot for the big upstairs practice golf place with the storage units downstairs.  He's fixed things for me, sometimes slowly, but usually works.  Try that if the other advice fails.  Be sure to get an estimate first.  Some things are cheaper to just replace.  Coppel in Chapala has a large selection.

Teleservicio Calvario in San Juan Cosala can fix anything electronic, quick and inexpensive. On the lake side by the tower.

That guy is amazing. Not to mention inexpensive, so I won't. I didn't know if he were still in business or not--haven't been there in 5 years or so. Well, maybe more years than that--I think he fixed a tape recorder for me;)
