USD exchange
I have $100 USD that I want to exchange for pesos. Can I just walk into any bank with the proper ID and exchange it?
Re: USD exchange
If a bank posts the exchange rate in their window, they will exchange your money.

Multiva will do it if you have your passport.

Re: USD exchange
Compare rates before committing exchanging. Some are not good at all.

Re: USD exchange
Intercam usually is a little better than CI or Multiva.

Re: USD exchange
I ended up going to Intercam. They gave me $1720 MXN for the $100 USD. Good enough for me.
Re: USD exchange
Heck, I wanted some USD but my modem died yesterday. Day late & a dollar (or 100) short. That was a good rate you got.

So you now, no doubt, have an account with Intercam. Bueno. I've never complained about their exchange rate, it's usually good.

Re: USD exchange
Intercam usually charges around 500- 600 pip for exchange. It is the best I have found lakeside, without having a large funded account

Re: USD exchange
Will Intercam, Multiva and CI exchange USD for someone who does not have an account with them? I haven't been in the Lakeside area for years and don't know where any of these businesses are located. I'm arriving tomorrow and would appreciate knowing where they are.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: USD exchange
Yes, just show your Passport. Banco Multiva is across the street from what used to be called Lloyds. Intercam is across from the former Trattoria Ajijic.

Re: USD exchange
Intercam and Multiva are both on the carretera, Intercam in the 'vicinity' of Galeana cross-street... next to an OXXO. Multiva is a bit east of there close to Javier Mina. CI is on the Libramiento in the "new" Centro Laguna Shopping area in the vicinity of WalMart.
BTW, the best exchange rates are achieved with your Debit card at a local ATM. Just be sure your Bank knows that you will be using that card in Mexico.
