In the cliffs above the Riberas malicon (blue sidewalks) there is a cave or hole entrance that sports a (oviously) man made arch. Does anyone know the history of this cave? A Park worker told me it is over 200 years old, but who knows? You can stand at west side banos and look directly up.

Maybe it is the one between Riberas and Chapala where the curves are?

They must mean the little park on the S curves. There's probably someone living in that cave.

It's listed for $299,900 USD on the Chapala MLS. Reduced from the original asking of $349,000 USD,

Picture yourself squatting in the entrance of your very own hideaway. Feels like Chapala 200 years ago, yet just a brief walk to Delicia's for breakfast. Cozy, rustic, and waiting for your personal touch.

It is amusing, watching you guys trying to out clever each other. Speaking of the one of a kind aspect, it is the first time I've seen human intervention on the cliffs above lakeside. Can any one point to others?

It is interesting to note the difference perspective makes. You see people trying to out clever each other. I see people enjoying word play with each other.

Not yet!

I'm with LOL, fun word-play. Humor and perspective being in short supply. I guess what newbies fail to realize is that most of us all know each other.

Yes, Carmela, I actually do know of another cave-dwelling endeavor that happened a few years ago in a cave above Mezcala - you may wish to explore! The residents at that time have been relocated to Puenta Grande, a Pueblo Magico. Sorta. You see, they were in the business of manufacturing pesos in that cave!

Would not a man made cave be better called a mine?

Manufacturing pesos? Now that sounds interesting. When was this? Took a look on google earth and someone posted some nice petroglyphs above Mescala.

Yes, there are petroglyphs.

That was some time ago, maybe 8 years? 9, 10. . .maybe you can find it in the Guadalajara Reporter archives. I think I saw it in one of the newspapers at the time.

I wonder if there is rock art or petroglyphs above Parque de los Milagros? I know I could never climb up there and look. I barely made it to the top of the hill in Chapala.
