BRINGING EXOTIC PET TO MEXICO Empty BRINGING EXOTIC PET TO MEXICO

Post by Jim W Tue May 10, 2011 5:51 pm

I have helped many bring their exotic in country over past 5 years. Two months ago I discovered USA will not allow me me to return with my pet of 17 years....back to USA as they are now endangered species....She is A Moluccan Cockatoo....hatched in USA....Permitted into Mexico.....in November of 2006....Now denied re importation.....This sooooooo sucks....

Those of you that have exotic pets be aware for me this is very difficult....Good news though, Moluccan Cockatoos are rare...sell for 50,000 pesos +/_ in Mexico....I met with Guadalajara zoo today....GDL zoo excited as this is their only female and only have 3 ...to add to there aviary show. I am so happy my C 2 will have a great home , proper handling, and vet care...not to be resold to bad people...and I have letter from zoo director ...so we can visit in the future.

Just sharing happy pain

Oh, Jim... that has got to hurt. I'm happy you were able to resolve this unhappy situation in such a positive manner. Here's hoping you will soon become grandparent of a clutch of Moluccan cockatoos. Lizzy

I had the pleasure of meeting C2 at Jim's place on our last visit down. What an awesome bird she is. I am glad she will have a great home with lots of attention.

Gee Bob, I don't mean to be picky, but that's about half a pic of the bird. There's more hat than bird.

Your just being picky Rolly....LOL. Looking at your avatar it looks like you've discovered Ponce de Leon's magic elixir. Looking good amigo.

I dunno, C-Bob....Rolly seems to be morphing into Yoda... Jim, glad you found a good home at the Zoo...A really good zoo BTW...a lot more than we expected...well worth a visit. We still get a chuckle remembring how C2 used to dance to the music.

Dawg would agree with that. You look like a skinny little fellow being ignored by your famous matron in Lerdo. It´s a damn shame we won´t meet you on our way to New Mexico during the first part of July but perhaps you can convince us that transiting through Ciudad Juarez to El Paso is OK as long as one keeps the foot on the petal and the eye on the road. We realize we are responsible for our own actions and would never hold you accountable, Rolly, but is there a possibilty we can dine together in Lerdo on our way to Santa Fe?
