Definitely you would be better off with a "property manager" who could review the bills, keep an eye on the property, and communicate with you regularly.
Eager y Asociados used to have someone who provided that service and she was excellent; not sure the service is available anymore or to non-clients.

I'll also get in touch with MarCia about looking after the place.
Bob... I thought you'd like the hat. We're coming from Fort San. It's on Echo Lake just outside of Fort Qu'appelle in Saskatchewan.

One problem is opening the bancomer account. They insisted on a utility bill before they would open account. A
lease was worthless. So they told us we needed our passports, our visas (FMM is fine), and a copy of a utility
bill in the house we lived in even if it is in the landlord name. So get the electric bill in your name before you
try to open a bank account at least for Bancomer. Also you get a better exchange rate if you exchange more than
$5000 US. Everything else was wonderful and the norm except for the 20 signatures on all the legal papers which
is standard for mexican banking. The signing does stop eventually LOL.

We think highly of Roma. Veronica even arranged to help take care of a cat and cat box for a friends mother for a
period of time. We have rented two houses from them and are very happy. She does well with both sides of the
business in my opinion. She is also a nice person. We enjoy her company.

For example you can take up to $6000 pesos from a Scocia Bank ATM if you have a BOA (Bank of America) account
and you get a great rate and no fees. The Scocia Bank ATM is near WalMart. Find the deal as it saves you much money
over time. Other deals exist maybe at your brokerage for example. Don't pay excessive fees and bad rates of conversion.
Don't convert cash to another currency at all. Keep it until you need to spend it up north for example. If you manage
your money you will be fine. You can lose 5 to 10 % if you are not careful. You have to study and pay attention to what
the banks and money houses do down here but with a little work you can keep most all of your money. You can also
follow patterns. I move dollars down here after tourist season when the dollar is always stronger and don't move money
during the tourist season when the dollar tends to be weaker. They do manipulate the peso you know to keep it in a
range between 12 to 14. Sell dollars when it is 14 for example. Yes it is a little bit of risk taking but if you manage your
money you will be much better off than not managing your currency exchanges and ATM withdrawls. Once you have a
Bancomer account you can just write them a US bank check and they will take care of the rest and the checks tend to
close in about a week or so. Some say you can get a better rate of exchange from the money houses up on the Carraterra
but I got 13.73 at Bancomer when the official rate was 14.03. Acceptable to me!!

Good Luck and Welcome!!
