RIP - Shannon Blair
Local resident and animal activist, Shannon Blair, passed away suddenly yesterday. She was a friend of ours and will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her husband Michael. Her member name on this forum was Natbug.
Shannon was also active with Los Ninos de Chapala y Ajijic.

Re: RIP - Shannon Blair
I am just in shock. Shannon was a friend and fellow Dog Ranch volunteer. And my heart goes out to Michael.

Aw, I'm sorry for your losses. I've seen her name and enjoyed her posts. Does anyone have a picture?

That's the trouble, as I get older, people, I feel I know quite well, as I say hello to them every day, I only know them now by looks as I have forgotten their names.
I sure wish I could see a picture of Shannon, as I am sure I would know who she was and would be able to hopefully make a small donation in her name to the Ranch. (They used to and may still collect donations on Friday mornings in front of the Actinver Bank.

Re: RIP - Shannon Blair
Shannon Blair was my best friend. But, then, she was a good friend to many here. I cannot say enough about her generous spirit and what a bright light she was in this community. Her and her husband Michael have taken in 13 animals to date.
We are looking to re home 2 of them to lighten Michael's load. The Ranch can't take them; they're full. I can't take them due to my allergies and asthma.
They are both around 2 years of age, medium size. One would make a great guard dog. The other is just shy and very sweet.
Is there anyone left here at Lakeside that doesn't have a yard full or could squeeze one or two more in?
BTW: NCA is having a fundraiser Feb. 14th and is dedicating the event to Shannon. This organization, as well as the Ranch and her own animals were some of her passions.
My heart goes out to her husband, Michael, daughter Laurel and son, Spencer.
Rest in Peace Shannon

IslandGirl, I am sorry for the loss of your friend. She sounds like a wonderful person who will be much missed in the community.
I wish I could help with her dogs but I am at capacity at my home. I am limited by space and resources to the five animals who make their homes with me.
I wish you and Michael the best in rehoming the animals who meant so much to Shannon.

Re: RIP - Shannon Blair
Thank you for your compassion and support, Lady Otter Latte. You do indeed sound like you're at capacity and I understand that so many Lakesiders have rescued so many animals, that they're also in your situation.
We have such a great supportive community here. We are blessed.
I've been asked for photos of these two lovely dogs and hopefully will be able to provide them tomorrow. Perhaps that will help.

Nice idea and gesture MexicoPete, we'll also make a donation in Shannon's name when we return from vacation. While we didn't know her we appreciate her efforts to make our world a better place.
