Re: Delete Cookies
If I go to a questionable site and want to delete cookies I go to 'control panel', Internet options, delete. I also have my laptop setup to delete cookies every time I log off.

V-T
I assume you are using Firefox?
Cookies are, to a small extent, necessary for web browsing. Things like remembered passwords, your personal settings on websites you visit for example. Then there are tracking cookies. These are used by web providers to track your buying habits and where you go on the internet. Buy a pair of shoes on line and for the next couple of weeks, every web site you go to will have shoe ads. Then there are malware cookies. You really don't want these on your computer. Understand, when you clean out the cookies, there is no distinguishing between good and bad cookies. They all get wiped.
From a security standpoint, it is best to have Firefox clean the cookies and browsing history every time it closes. You will have to retype in your ID & password to your favorite sites EVERYTIME you open your browser which can be a pain in the neck, but you can sleep better at night.
In Firefox, click on the menu tab at the top right of your browser (three parallel lines). Click on Options. Click on the Privacy Tab. Next to HISTORY, click the arrow next to "Remeber History." Select "Never Remember History." Close the window and restart Firefox.

Re: Delete Cookies
I use a program called Privacy Badger. It lets me decide which cookies I want to delete. (The ones that are tracking me) I train it to remove the cookies I don't want. I can also change my settings if it breaks a page.
