MX Drivers License Renewal
Four of us need to renew and we are getting so much conflicting information regarding which office does and which office doesn't do renewals anymore it's making us crazy. We planned on Ocotlan but have now heard you can't do it there anymore. Is that true?
Have you renewed lately??? If so, where did you do it???

Talk with Spencer. He assists people with renewals so must know when and where.
Re: MX Drivers License Renewal
That's a good idea, I will do that. Thanks.

We renewed our licences in Ocotlan in late October with no problems.
It was an easy and fast process of less than 1/2 hour.
The office is located in a plaza so there is ample and free parking.
I subsequently read that they were not renewing licences for people from Chapala.
This makes no sense as its an Jalisco State office available to all residents of Jalisco.

Re: MX Drivers License Renewal
Thanks, Canmex, we heard that too. I'd like some assurance Ocotlan will do it before we drive out there.
I'll try Spencer's office on Mon. I've called there a few times over the years and have never had anyone answer the phone. Maybe it was all Saturdays. . .

Bring the originals of your CFE bills, residency permit, etc. I forgot the original of the CFE bill & there was much talking between supervisors about it but they did let me get the license. Also, some man came up to me & asked how old I was. Over 60, you don't need to stand in the long line & get taken to the front, which I didn't know. And don't ask me which place this was. I had a driver and paid no attention but it was a very large facility & they were giving driving & parking tests there.

Well, Plaza Las Torres on Lazaro Cardenas for sure....was there just last Thursday.Trailrunner wrote:Four of us need to renew and we are getting so much conflicting information regarding which office does and which office doesn't do renewals anymore it's making us crazy. No breaks for old people standing in line, but then again didn't ask for any, and no one offered.
I'm sure you can get your renewal at the main office on Alcalde, where they give the driving test for new licenses, but it is a zoo (very close to the real zoo) of people and activity and difficult to find parking. At least, at Las Torres, you can park in the underground parking lot and take an escalator to the main floor then walk up one more floor to the renewal office.
One copy, black and white. of all the required documents.

I also went to Plaza los torres and it went pretty quick. I had to go to the bank and pay, got a discount for INAPAM, and that took a bit more time.

I didn't have to go to a bank to pay. I paid the cashier there.

That's the way it was last week, but a separate line for the Recaudadora, making it 3 lines you had to go through, if not paid before arriving.
