Feeding the Animals

We have lived here for nine years and have seen many changes over the years, but sadly there are still animals in need. Fortunately, many of these unwanted and trashed dogs and cats find their way to one of the  local shelters. We should all be thankful that we have several Shelters for these poor creatures to be cared for. In order for these animals to be taken care of it requires the help of the community.

Today we visited Anita's Animals with a donation and a large bag of food and visited with some of the dogs and cats she cares for. They are without a doubt some of the sweetest we have seen. On behalf of Anita, I am asking for food donations for both cats and dogs. These donations can be made at the Pet store and cat shelter (Lakeside Friends of the Animals) in Riberas. All you have to do is make a purchase and let them know it is for Anita's Animals and they will mark it for her and it will be picked up by one of the volunteers.  This can also be done for the Shelter of your choice such as Lucky Dog or The Ranch.  Please keep the Shelter animals in mind when purchasing food for your beloved pet.

Anita can be found at the Ajijic Wednesday market, so if you have any books or clothing to donate she will gladly take them.

Please help feed the animals.

Thanks for the reminder, Abbey. I have some books that need new homes and will bring them to Anita's.

Thank you Lady. I just went through our closets and found stuff I have not used in 6 months, a bunch of books and DVD's so off to Anita at the Tianguis tomorrow.

We also purchased some food at the Riberas pet store using our credit card and with the exchange rate the large bag was less than 20usd, well worth it.

The ranch will be in Ajijic Saturday holding an Adoption Day and will happily accept any donations there if you do not wish to go to Riberas.
