Christmas Border Caravan
Looks like Federal police are doing something about the "tradition" of highway (mostly Mexican nationals/ Mexican Americans) being assaulted on highway while going back home for the holidays: http://news.yahoo.com/police-escort-mexican-travelers-death-highway-053542671.html
I knew a family from Michoacan who were left standing by the side of the highway in their underwear a few Christmases ago. Brand new van, presents and everything else was stolen.
I wonder if gringos join the high speed police escorted caravans.
I wonder if this is the first year for this?
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Re: Christmas Border Caravan
This has been going on since about 2008.... they had it going north also. The policia federal would wait after toll booth and when they had about 40 vehicles they would go north and south
This problem can be solved with everyone on the highways caling a set phone number when they see a road block...
Colombia got rid of these criminal road blocks by having military helicopters posted near areas. When the report was made of a road block they sent in the helicopter thar opened the side door and eliminated the criminals doing the road block. No more road blocks or they would be eliminated

If only. . . There are so many things Mexico could do if they REALLY wanted to stop this kind of crime. It's clear Colombia was motivated - and it worked!
