Sayulita time

I was in Sayulita the other day and was surprised to learn that they are on the same time as PV (central time) not mountain time like the rest of the Nayarit coast. Since Guayabitos (north of them) and Bucerius (south of them) are on mountain time why would Sayulita be on central time?

Sayulita is on UC Berkeley time.

I used to live there and that whole time zone fiasco was a pita. Make a DDS appt or lunch date in PV and everyone's done eating when you arrive. I thought the time changed when one crossed the Rio Ameca.

Well it does for the rest of Nayarit. Not so for people from Sayulita as they are already on PV time for some strange reason. I was thinking maybe it was to stay the same time as the airport (which is across the bridge in Jalisco) so their tourists don't get confused?

Yes, I'd say you're right. Airport.
Lots of active and vocal foreigners in Sayulita, maybe they missed too many lunch dates in PV too. haha

Airport exactly. Bucerias and Nuevo are on central time to avoid time zone problems, not to mention screwed up dinner/social reservations in P.V.
