Scooter Rental

Are there any scooter rentals in the Lake Chapala area? I'll be visiting in Oct.

Not that I know of but what about a golf cart? You could contact Travis on this board as he rents them.

I'll be staying at Hotel Perico and I believe the golf carts are rented in and pretty much limited to the Ajijic area.

No, the golf carts wouldn't work at Perico. I don't know of any scooters rentals either. I do know a fellow who rents very cheap cars.

If you are unfamiliar with driving in this area you will be much safer in a car than on a scooter.

A scooter would be a little dangerous on the libramiento as well. Most people driving well over 80kmh on there.

I believe that Hotel Perico has a shuttle. Once at the bottom of the libramiento, near Walmart, you can catch local buses in either direction.

Good point RV. From their website:
"Shuttle Service: We now have a 7-passenger van offering a shuttle service to Walmart 5 days a week and the cost is only 10 pesos per way."

Thanks for all the input. I think a car will be our best option for all we plan to do.
