Would like to go to Zihua for our anniversary in Oct. Anyone been there recently?
Would Oct be a good time to go?

Stayed in January. Our third trip. Even has a nice Sushi restaurant now. Very hurt by the troubles as the irish would say. No cruise ships and we rented a boat and guide for a good price due to the hurting business. Go have breakfast at Bananas and have a cantaloupe shake. Not sure if Oct is still hurricaine season. Understand it is very south and very warm and humid for most of the year. Don't swim downtown walk up to one of the beaches away from downtown. Uhh they have a little secret pollution problem downtown. Nice big mega/commercial supermarket for groceries soon to be Sorianna after they bought them. Downtown market is fun and everyday. People were very friendly to me but I have no problem anywhere in Mexico. Nice little movie theatre downtown. Beautiful sunsets off Playa Ropa. Good Italian restaurant above Playa Ropa. Gordo Gringo was good also above the beach. Muni cops long gone due to corruption. State and Federal police run things a little more grumpy than our cops but not a very safe job in areas away from Zhuat. US state department says it is safe in Zhauat but not the place to go driving off into the boondocks OK. Ixtapa looks like Cancun to me. Go if you want. Go see the Dog shelter downtown next to beach and make a donation. Nice folks.

Money is tough in town spend what you can and spread it around.
