Where to Buy Raw Peanuts by the kilo

Looking for raw peanuts to make boiled peanuts. I can only find roasted but not raw.
Know of any place they sell raw peanuts?

Right we want the raw green ones.

I have neverseen them Lakeside although I had peanuts grwong in the garden and the gardener told me they used to grown them on the lake bed because the soil was right for them.
In states where thy grown peanuts you can buy them at the market or can buy boiled peanuts from the street vendors.

Raw green peanuts in the shell are not likely to be found at Lakeside.

There are guys selling boiled peanuts at the local futbol games so they must be getting them from somewhere local. Go ask one of them.

RV Peanuts grow lakeside, I had some in my garden growing wild.

those are actually beans i think-not peanuts you're getting at the fotbal game. they sell them on the street too. checked at the tianguis this am-nada.

I have bought boiled peanuts from vendors on the west end of the periferico. There is a guy in Ajijic who has a peanut cart and he would probably know. I see more people selling fresh chick peas.

Nope, they are peanuts as verified by "a good ole boy" from the southern US who was also at the games.

yep. that's what i was thinking. i didn't realize the boiled cacahuates were still in the shell.

Yes, they are and the nut is mushy and horrible. I don't see how people like these things but apparently they are a big deal in the southern US.

i generally don't like beans but the garbanzos from the street vendors is goober good.

They are good,when we visit my in-laws in Guanajuato we usually pick a bunch of garbanzos and grill or boil them,the owners of the fields are usually out there with a hand scale.

Yes they are big in the south, but if they are mushy, they have been cooked too long. Should be soft but not mushy.

I would probably agree with you for what you are getting. The peanut must be dug before it is mature (green), must be the correct type (valencia), and must not be allowed to dry. It is like taking a mature cactus pad and cooking it. It will be awful, but it was still boiled cactus.

This is what I use when jonesin' for some and I can not get what is needed to boil. Notice they are labeled, "GREEN".

Ugh !! Not like home boiled but thanks.
