Arileo
Tabarka
Just Chillin
Yves
Yup. All good. For great, I think you'd need a longer trip, and Las Salvias isn't exactly west very much.
And about that chopped liver on TOB: Naaah. I'll just put a banner ad on this one saying "LIARS LIARS PANTS ON FIRE" if that bun falls apart:roll:

" Awful Waffle " ... are you serious.? food wuzn't bad... but how do u f'k up a waffle and an egg?
Service is nonexistent ... when three out of four are served and the fourth eventually gives up...
I took visiting friends there... never again... * Fonda Donda * across the street is much better
Roberto's... I like the Menu, I like the food, I even like the owner... but the waiters are crooks and will overcharge if you aren't watching... last time we were there, we were 4 couples... all four bills were wrong... the worst one by nearly 200 pesos.
Yves is good... get in there early or you'll halfta arm wrestle someone for a table.

Re: Good Restaurants in West Ajijic
I just threw the Waffle House in there for a breakfast suggestion, as I don't eat breakfast myself, but I'll withdraw it. Fonda Dona Lola or whatever it's name is, is just across the street, so that would work.
gringal.....
The restaurant in Las Salvias was a suggestion for something upscale, and as you say not very far west, but your suggestion of Arileo is so far west, that it's in the next Municipio, Jocotepec, but it also gets good passing grades.
I don't know which fate would be worse.....winding up chopped liver, or a soggy, disintegrating bun.

I'm a little too thrifty for that Las Salvias restaurant; maybe for a special occasion; It's had good reviews.
I really like Arileo's and except for the topes on the way, it's a nice drive and it's before you get into the crowded further West.
Excellent salmon dinners; good lunch menu.
Now, about that chopped liver: lets just hope that bun doesn't disintegrate.....je je.

Fonda Doña Lola is the name, and the food is very good, economical, lots of variety and very reliable.

Sorry RV, but I don't have an enye with a proper tilde on this friggin gringo computer, hence La Fonda Dona Lola.
La Don/+tilde/a, might just have some donas too, for breakfast, and if she doesn't, there is always Fernando's donas/doughnuts across from Farmacia Guadalajara which has nothing to do with La Don/+tilde/a in west Ajijic.
Pay no attention to this post, ellkeeper.

Don‘t you have “special characters“ under “edit“, or if a PC you might have to locate a numerical code; but I think any computer can do it, as well as other interesting characters. Ω or Ș for example.

I think we're all used to imaginary tildes around here, so no problem.
Now, don't you go on baiting me on TOB: ("Straight lines and wagons" etc.) 'cause MC will happily ban me if I respond with the appropriate swipe at ya. He waits to pounce. And, that thread about people leaving is getting dumber by the minute. Geesh, if you're scared silly, why stick around, anyway? Vamanos, already. How do say that in Gaelic?

I went and took a look and that thread is ridiculous. Hopefully 90% of the posters on that thread do leave. It will be a better place.

90% would certainly be a hit on that forum.
Some posters were sensible and actually answered the original question. Others went out over the top in praising life in Mexico.
A smartass or two praised themselves unduly for being uber integrated into Mexican society. Some really, really miss flat sidewalks and lunch at Nordstroms, the latter saying it all. And then........everybody lies about why they left or why they came in the first place. Nobody, but nobody admitted that they were here because they could have a bigger lifestyle for the buck.

Forgot Bruno's... more like West Central Ajijic... could use a little ambience, new tables & chairs... but the food is consistently good.... a definite favorite

La Bamba is the old Pepe & Aurora's on the caraterra in west Ajijic. Same owners, new name.
Re: Good Restaurants in West Ajijic
Had lunch at Bruno's yesterday. Heard the Hamburguesa was good. Had it on the menu, but no Hamburguesa. Food was OK.
