Where to have ID photos taken?
My wife and I are at the stage in getting our Residente Temporal ID card where we need to bring in to INM those 3 photos with ears off, glasses exposed, etc.
We have heard that some places where the photos could be taken in the past are no longer acceptable.
Can you recommend photo studios--Ajijic preferred, but Chapala OK--where we can get these photos quickly (our 3 days from notification expires after 9 June), and reliably?
Muchas gracias to the many who have, and will, help us during this acclimation time in our new home!
Any other tips about how to get through the rest of this process with our sanity not too severely challenged will be appreciated.

Re: Where to have ID photos taken?
Get to any photo studio early Monday and hope they can give you quick service. You may have to pick up the finished photos Tuesday, 9 June and go directly to INM.
We always used the studio on Lopez Cotilla, just east of the mercado publico, near Zaragosa.
Farmacia Guadalajara photos are the ones that are often rejected.

Go to Farmacia Guadalajara. Quick and inexpensive. Take the photos and put them in a plain envelope, not the one FG gives you. They won't be rejected.

Nah. That's creative defense against bureaucrats who own photography shops.

Re: Where to have ID photos taken?
Won't FG or any photographer imprint the photos with their name, if not on front, on the back? I just walked by a place on Ocompo-it's called Digital Genesis, across the street and just east of Manix--opens at 10 tomorrow, according to the neighbors. We may hedge our bets and get the pics first from FG--with a clever disguise of their provenance--if Digital G can't have them on time. Thanks all, for your advice.

As RV Gringo points out the photos from Farmacia Guadalajara have been rejected in the past. Its not worth the chance to save a couple of pesos.David wrote:Go to Farmacia Guadalajara. Never in 10 years have I been rejected. No, the name of the fotog nor FG is on the back of the pix.

It's not the pesos, but the time that seems important to save.

The place on Ocampo can get your photos to you within an hour or so.

We went to Digital G this morning--taking the pics only took a minute. We picked them up an hour later. They look fine. We each got two sets of 3 poses for a total of 200p. We liked giving the work to a neighbor and we only had to walk 2 blocks.
