Waze Empty Waze

I just downloaded this app to my phone, but I can not "verify" my phone number.
I have logged on through facebook, and when I am asked to verify my phone number I enter it and press "next" to no avail.
Their support does not provide any help on this matter, so I am hoping that someone here has encountered and solved the same problem.
This seems like it could be a very useful app. Beer
