Violence in Vancouver
VANCOUVER – Surrey’s Mayor and RCMP are appealing for help to try and stop the growing gun violence in the city.
On Sunday someone opened fire at 126 Street and 88 Avenue killing a man, who has been identified as 22-year-old Arun Paul Singh Bains. This is the 22nd shooting in Surrey and Delta since early March.
Vancouver is becoming to violent to ever think about going back. For the record delta and Surrey are suburbs of Vancouver

Uhh really.....that is a bit extreme. There are cities in the US and Mexico that still make Vancouver and surrounding burbs look like a playschool. When is the last time 15 cops were shot or 18 kids were rounded up and murdered in Vancouver?

Don't get defensive. The whole world is getting crazy with shoot 'em ups. I agree that there are places much more violent, but don't ignore reality.

Somewhere between "ignoring reality" and gross exaggeration ("Vancouver is becoming too violent to ever think about going back.") there is a place for acknowledging increased violence all over the world. I believe that is what CBob was reminding you of and with which rational people would agree.

Vancouver is not only very dangerous but it is very expensive, the weather is very bad, you can't find a nice home under a $1,000,000, and the women drivers rule the streets, women drive taxis and busses, the food is just like in England, and did you read about the Americans in Canada getting double taxed.....Just don't go there. Eh

Sometimes in discussing Mexico, these comparisons can come to light and seem appropriate, but in this case I don't see how it belongs in the Lakeside forum.

First death in gang war leads to plea from Surrey, B.C., mayor to stop shooting.
SURREY, B.C. – The mayor of a Metro Vancouver city plagued by a gang war has implored those shooting at each other to stop before more people are killed, adding police will get the necessary resources to deal the violence.

Bob That comment was meant to be tongue in cheek, and I guess It did not read that way. I love my new home and tire of criticism from northern press

It doesn't and other than for Arbon's mental illness I have no idea why the others would table it for discussion.
