Auto Restoration Empty Auto Restoration

Post by Jim W Tue Apr 07, 2015 7:41 pm

My son and I are restoring a 1969 Skylark custom convertible. This will be our 2nd restore since I purchased it new in 1969. This restore is to repair Cancer.....aka rust surfacing thru the paint. Does anyone know how to properly prep the body so it won't be an issue' Car is garaged!

TIA

Blast the affected areas with glass beads. Treat the bare metal with phosphoric acid in the concentration recommended by the auto repair industry, apply epoxy primer and then do the rest of the normal bodywork routine.
