We should all thank the president to chapala
We now have a nice new park in front of the mercado
Its really fancy and clean
Itll stay clean since theres no reason to go
The Interesting vendors out front with traditional foods and products have been run off
That way, we can all see how clean and neat it is
Kinda reminds me of a cemetary
No old gringos and mexicanos sitting and talking
No shoe shine guys to visit
My My, dont we all wish we could have such a lovely pristine place to go

We Do!
It's the local panteon.
They panteons are all as lively as this new clean park

It is awful. I hope the new presidente returns the plaza to the people. I have no idea who it is supposed to be for now.

Well said. I always enjoyed talking to the vendors, buying a few things and husband's favorite carnita lady was there. It felt like Mexico. Now it has no character and no heart.

I don't understand why MX hates trees, they have removed almost all the beautiful trees in all the parks and plazas, people don't want to sit in the hot sun.

I don't believe the plaza is finished yet. I understand the vendors will be returning when it is.

True True!!   I have them on DVD if you want to see them.  They hold up very well to time I am afraid. For the folks who have never seen the Prisoner you should.  Makes much more sense today than 50 years ago when made.

Be seeing you!  (say it while holding finger to temple)

50 years ago, yikes! A group of us used to gather to watch each episode, we were intrigued and entranced by the story. It was, obviously, unforgettable.

Plaza was closed down for months, and other than removing a 3rd of it, I see no difference at all between the way it looked before, and now.

I've heard that the street vendors will return to the plaza and will set up in the walkway between the fountain and Morelos.

Not to mention the loss of several parking spaces where the venders were forced to move to in an town that already had parking problems, that ruling removed about ten usable parking spaces on main street. I thought the area they created by removing the green area in the plaza would be ideal for the venders - but no - make more room and then dont allow them into it?????

To quote a friend of mine: Every time a new presidente takes office they have to pi$$ on the plaza.

lolololol

It's not only Chapala, Joco suffered the same fate a few years ago. With the same result, cut the trees down, blazing hot sun, repainted the portales white from Colonial colors that matched the church, no shade. . .no gente.
