New IMSS Fees 2015 - 2016

Fees change each year in February, the fees for 2015 to 2016 are as follows for people who only have medical insurance (afiliacion voluntaria)

0 to 19 years old $1,900 pesos

20 to 29 years old $2,250 pesos

30 to 39 years old $2,400 pesos

40 to 49 years old $3,400 pesos

50 to 59 years old $3,600 pesos

60 to 69 years old $5,200 pesos

70 to 79 years old $5,450 pesos

80 and older $5,500 pesos

Wow they have really increased!

In USD terms, they have not gone up much at all. Since medicines and equipment are probably at ‘world prices‘ it make sense that the increase takes the exchange rate of the peso into account. Lower labor costs in Mexico help to keep the impact down a bit, but IMSS is strapped for funds, so some increase is to be expected.
