I have a Panasonic 4 phone wireless system, base w/answering machine and 3 remotes.

The answering machine system died, but the phones work OK.

Can I get a stand alone answering machine to take calls I don't answer live?

Thanks.

Have you checked to see if answering machine has been turned off? You should have a red light on the unit if auto answer is turned on. Wording on my two Panasonic units are answer on/off on the button below the red light. I know it might sound dumb but your name here is clueless.

¿But how would the answering machine feel being called "clueless" every time someone dials it's number?

It is very easy on Panasonics to turn auto answer off and not notice especially if you hit auto answer off when you meant to hit delete message. I did not mean to make fun of someone.

"I know it might sound dumb but your name here is clueless."

That's not making fun. That is just stating fact. That it is also funny is just happy coincidence.

No, it's bad. I worked it for years and it just isn't taking messages. Lots of beeps, etc.

I figure I got the use out of it so it's time for a new one.
